At almost every piece of the Mediterranean coast, a beautiful beach awaits. We’ve put together some of the most breathtaking and they are definitely all worth a visit!
1. Mallorca, Spain
If you’re looking for the perfect vacation destination that has it all, Mallorca is right up there. The crystal clear waters of this Balearic Island are a kaleidoscope of blues and turquoises, home to sheltered coves that stand out against the limestone backgrounds, making for a truly memorable beach experience.
2. Sardinia, Italy
2,000 km of gorgeous coastline makes Sardinia the largest Italian island in the Mediterranean. The many jaw-dropping, beautiful sandy beaches are the perfect place to while away a dreamy week at the beach, sunbathing, swimming and soaking in the phenomenal surroundings.

This astoundingly beautiful Island is regarded as the sunniest in the Mediterranean, so the blues of the water really come alive against the powdery sand. The furthest (inhabited) island away from the Croatian mainland, this pebbly oasis is definitely worth the trek! The unbelievably clear waters are the perfect place to relax, wind-down and enjoy a wonderful day in a heavenly corner of the Mediterranean. It’s also very close to the blue cave, a must see marvel of the region!
5. Santorini, Greece
When it comes to Mediterranean beaches, there are not many with as much personality as those on the island of Santorini. Volcanic soil has created the world famous Red Beach, a must-see destination. The combination of the red sand and turquoise waters creates something truly wondrous to behold.
6. Liguria, Italy
Known as the Italian Riviera, there is a reason you have seen this luxurious destination in so many snaps on Instagram! The colourful houses of the fishing village, Cinque Terre, that line the cliff top shoreline are a magical backdrop for the royal blue waters. Definitely one to add to your bucket list!
7. Himare, Albania
A little bit further off the beaten track, this Albanian beach destination is well worth the visit! With a lovely beach promenade, crystalline waters and a culture-filled old town on the hill, this is a slightly less developed place to enjoy the clear Mediterranean waters.
8. Patara, Turkey
With almost 18km of unspoilt beach, this Turkish gem is a spectacular location to enjoy a Mediterranean beach getaway. Adding to the experience is the journey to the beach through ancient ruins that are the reason the destination remains so undeveloped. The only issue – leaving this alluring paradise at the end of your stay!
