Simple Sweets

Arguably the most important part of any meal - the dessert! Keep it simple when serving after dinner treats with these savvy serving suggesions.

  • Serve after dinner treats such as chocolates, biscotti and roasted almonds on a tiered platter for fruitguests to help themselves.
  • Present a selection of different flavoured store bought sorbets in martini glasses and garnish with fresh mint as a cooling and sophisticated summer treat.
  • Try making a deconstructed rocky road as a sweet nibble for after dinner to enjoy with coffee. Serve each guest a glass filled with a mix of roasted peanuts, broken dark chocolate pieces, marshmallows and red jelly lollies. We love using stemless wine glasses to present this treat, but only fill the glasses one third or halfway for a sophisticated look.
  • Create a simple dessert platter by giving a creative touch to store bought treats – place truffles and chocolates in metallic mini paper cases, fill shot glasses with hard sweets and tie ribbon around the glasses, and fill cellophane bags with a piece of biscotti or shortbread.
  • Stack a few pieces of biscotti and tie with ribbon when serving coffee and tea
  • Fill colourful noodle boxes with store bought macaroons, shortbread biscuits or truffles as take home treat for your guests. Tie with twine or ribbon.
